Looking into organic laundry detergent ...

=
excerpt:
"Many of the chemicals that are used in commercially branded laundry detergents have no real purpose in keeping our clothes clean. They are merely added so that our clothes will appear whiter or brighter to our eyes. Over time, exposure to these chemicals can cause allergies to laundry detergents.

What are we, the consumers of household cleaning products, supposed to do? The answer is simple. We can start purchasing an organic laundry detergent.

The latest from Kayaro Soaps! Organic Lotions at Save The Arts, Facial Scrubs at LA Vendors Fest and Aglow Eco Living Bath Salts!

We are excited to share with you some of  the recent activities here at your favorite soap opera.

We continue to set up a table at Melrose Place Farmer's Market, on Sunday mornings, at least twice a month.  We love the atmosphere of the quiet little strip of organic goods!  We will not be there this upcoming Father's Day weekend, as we will be set up at The Los Angeles Vendors Festival!
The weekend long event looks to be a great way to do some shopping and lunch with the family.  The event has tons of vendors on hand, as well as a small army of food trucks! Tickets are $5.00, children under 12 get in free! Parking is $5.00 as well. The festival is a great way for us to kick off the summer season in full gear!

Last week we attended the "Save The Arts" benefit, a fund raiser aimed to help raise funds to keep art education programs alive in LAUSD schools. A coalition of teachers, parents and students led by LAUSD art teacher (and our our good friend) Suzanne Nichols hosted the benefit.

The event had performances by jazz dancer Chester Whitmore and “American Idol” season seven contestant, Michael Johns as well as charity auctions and vendors.  Our soap table was a big hit, and we made several new friends!  We gave 20 percent of our sales to Save The Arts as well, and hope to continue to help them keep art education alive and well in Los Angeles.  We were glad to be a part of the effort and thanks everyone at Save The Arts for their hard work!

In addition to that, we have been busy developing our bath salts, scrubs and lotions lines.  Our favorite blends so far are the zesty Energy Citrus and White Tea & Ginger. We have ventured into such delectable scents as Rose, Sandalwood, and Tahitian Vanilla.  We have begun working with Aglow Eco Living, a eco-friendly gift candles, and home accents crafter.

They have some of the most beautiful, hand decorated soy candles. The eco friendly company is working with us on a new line of bath salts, that will be packaged in beautiful designer bottles. Stay tuned for more information on that, and click on all the images to visit the various websites.  More news soon!
