We buy our products from the best farms, soapers and importers from around the world, and bring you the best quality, all natural products available. Our aim is to help raise awareness of organic products, focus on working with “green” environmentally friendly companies and find sustainable solutions to modern, small business needs.
We are working on a partnership program with Clean The World, a non-profit organization that recycles soap and distributes it to impoverished countries, homeless shelters and others in need worldwide.
One of the most dire situations right now is the cholera outbreak in Haiti. Clean The World has been on the forefront, battling the epidemic as much as they can. They have managed to ship millions of recycled bars of soap in the last few months, but they still need help and support. The epidemic is steadily increasing, claiming victims daily! One of the easiest ways to combat this disease is by simply hand washing! We aim to fight the outbreak by sending as much soap as we can to Haiti!
We need your help!
1. Please donate ANY soap products that you have! We are setting up drop-off sites and locations throughout Los Angeles area and will be announcing more drop off locations daily! You can also email us with any questions! We are working with non-profits locally and hope to have drop off sites at area high schools very soon. If all else fails, email us for shipping info!
2. Cash donation! We need cash to ship our soaps to Clean The World’s distributions center in Orlando, Florida. Cash donations also go toward direct shipment of soap to Haiti. Here is a small break down of how much soap your cash donations can buy, courtesy of Clean The World!
$25 provides 85 children with soap for one month
$50 provides 170 children with soap for one month
$100 provides 340 children with soap for one month
$500 provides 1,700 children with soap for one month
$1000 provides 3,400 children with soap for one month
3. If you are traveling and staying at a hotel this season, make sure to save the soap and shampoo products before you leave! If you want to take the extra step, you can ask the desk person if they know about Clean The World’s program. Check their site for a list of hotels that are partners!

Kayaro Soap Opera’s “Soap Drive For Haiti” is planned to end on December 31, 2010, with early cut-off dates for our ‘mobile’ drives (schools, stores, local hotels, etc.)
We can arrange for pickup for Los Angeles participants!
Schools/students can help start a soap drive! If appropriate, teams can be set up to create a competition on who can collect more soap.

We are working on a "Soap For Haiti" campaign here at Kayaro Soap Operas, with the work of non-profits like Clean The World and Shawn Seipler as our guide and role model! We are reaching out to them, other non-profits and soap makers, as well as organizing our own efforts to start this project. We want to raise funds, as well as collect used soaps and bath products, and send them to Haiti, where they are desperately needed!

Commercial soap manufacturers make it a practice to remove the glycerine that is produced during the saponification (soap-making) process. The glycerine is a highly profitable substance, often sold to other companies who use it to make lotions and moisturizers, which your skin, now dried out from the harsh detergent 'soap,' desperately needs.
Most commercially produced bars contain synthetic lathering agents, artificial colors, and a slew of chemicals we can't even pronounce. Antibacterial and antimicrobial soaps often contain triclosan. Triclosan is a toxic chemical that is known to cause cancer. According to the National Coalition Against the Misuse of Pesticides (NCAMP), manufacturers of a number of triclosan-containing products claim that the active ingredient continues to work for as long as 12 hours after use. Consumers are, therefore, exposed to triclosan for much longer than the 20 seconds it takes to wash their hands or face.
Always remember that your skin is porous and absorbent. It absorbs whatever it comes in contact with, much the same as sticking something in your mouth. Chronic use of chemical laden products will cause the body to store the chemicals in the body fat or even in the brain. With enough accumulations of toxins in the body, illness can occur.
These nasty chemicals and toxins are now finding their way into our eco-system. Every time that lather goes down the drain, those pollutants are going with it. A recent report by the UK's Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) revealed that synthetic chemicals from soap, body washes, shampoos and other healthcare products were sneaking through the filters at water purification plants. The list of offenders included phthalates, which are linked to reproductive disorders in both humans and animals, and parabens, a preservative, which links to cancer.
